Duniacare - Yadnya Kasada Ceremony.Yadnya Kasada Ceremony is a culture from Tengger Tribe from east java Indonesia.This traditions as a culture doing by Tengger tribes to find a magical on Bromo Maountain.The ceremony is held every 14th day of the month kasada according to the traditional Hindu calendar calculations.A month before the day Yadnya Kasada,Tengger people from various village would gather in Pura Luhur Poten at the foot of Mount Bromo.Pura is make from volcanic rock with another case with typical Balinese Temple using red brick has become a center for the worship ceremony during Yadnya Kasada.
Right on Day Yadnya Kasada, the entire community will rise to the Tengger Mount Bromo and throw offerings into the crater. The offerings are agricultural produce, such as vegetables, fruits, and livestock as an expression of gratitude to Sang Hyang Widhi and ancestors.
Melarung ritual of crops and livestock have also done so lush and abundant crops. Various traditional arts was presented to enliven. Among these musical arts, tayub, and campursari. No wonder if the ceremony takes place always brings a lot of domestic and foreign tourists.
Kasodo Yadnya Kasada ceremony or a ritual performed once a year to honor Mount Brahma (Bromo) which is considered sacred by the inhabitants of Tengger tribe that inhabited the region of East Java.
Ceremony in Pura Luhur Poten
The ceremony was held at Pura Luhur Poten under the foot of Mount Bromo North and proceed to the summit of Mount Bromo. The ceremony was held at midnight to early morning every full moon around 14 or 15 in Kasodo (the tenth month) according to the Javanese calendar, around December / January according to the calendar AD.
Kasodo word itself meaning of the word "Kasada", meaning ten, implies the meaning of the tenth month of the Tengger calendar, time for doing Kasodo ceremony. Through the ceremony, Tengger tribe communities expect an abundant harvest, decline the request for reinforcements, or cure various diseases, namely by offering offerings by throwing into the crater of Mount Bromo, Tengger community while others down the crater to catch the offerings thrown into the crater, as a symbol of blessing from the Almighty.
Kasodo ceremony as we know it is a folklore that developed from a story of a young man named Jaka Seger who woo a beautiful young woman, Rara Anteng (Tengger is a combination of both names). Rara Anteng was the son of King Brawijaya who was then in power, around the 14th century. They married and lived happily until one day tired of not being given a child. Then they went to Mount Bromo to pray to the gods that they be given a child.
Their prayers may be granted on condition that the last child born to be sacrificed to the crater of Mount Bromo. They agreed. Rara Anteng became pregnant and gave birth to 25 children. With a heavy heart, they allow their children to-25 to mengobankan lives for the safety of the lives of people by Mount Bromo "angry" because of the promise Jaka Seger and Rara Anteng not yet fulfilled.
After sacrifice 25th child, the child's voice came from the crater of Bromo. The boy's voice asking dirutinkannya offerings every 14th day in the month Kasodo. The annual offerings that later became the forerunner of Kasodo ceremony. Twenty-four children and Joko Seger Rara Anteng which later became the ancestors of the current population of Tengger.
